Air North, Yukon’s Airline based in Whitehorse, YT is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Aircraft maintenance engineer. Air North, Yukon’s Airline is a regional carrier based in Whitehorse, Yukon. It provides passenger and cargo flights, including remote communities. The airline is partly owned by the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation and operates with a strong community focus. Air North partners with larger carriers to improve connectivity across the country. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Shift: 35-40 hours per week
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be legally entitled to work in Canada, demonstrate a strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility to support the trust built with passengers, partners, and communities
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should hold a valid Transport Canada “E” (AME-E) License, obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
- The candidates should show enthusiasm for contributing to the organization’s mission through customer service, operational excellence, or behind-the-scenes support
- The candidates should possess TC-approved endorsements on aircrafts operated by the company, such as B737 Classic, Next Generation, and ATR 42-300/320
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to perform maintenance on aircraft instruments, avionics, and electrical systems and components
- The candidate should be able to carry out systems testing using appropriate documentation such as the Aircraft Maintenance Manual, service bulletins, and engineering orders
- The candidate should be able to calibrate or adjust electronic equipment and instruments to specified standards, follow troubleshooting procedures to isolate and identify faults
- The candidate should be able to coordinate work activities with engineers, technicians, and other aircraft maintenance personnel
- The candidate should be able to conduct maintenance, repairs, and modifications using approved tools, materials, and manuals
- The candidate should be able to perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, troubleshoot and rectify aircraft system defects
