Air North, Yukon’s Airline based in Whitehorse, YT is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Aircraft maintenance engineer. Air North, Yukon’s Airline is a community-owned airline based in Whitehorse, Yukon. It operates a fleet of Boeing 737 and ATR 42 aircraft, offering scheduled flights to northern communities and major cities, including seasonal routes to Toronto and Ottawa. The airline is 49% owned by the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation, reflecting its deep local roots. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Shift: 35-40 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 2 years of relevant experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should demonstrate a strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility in all tasks, supporting the trust built with passengers, partners, and communities
  • The candidate should show enthusiasm for contributing to the unique mission, whether through direct customer service, operational excellence, or behind-the-scenes support, be legally entitled to work in Canada

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should possess a valid Transport Canada “E” (AME-E) License, be required to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
  • The candidate should have TC approved endorsements on aircraft operated by the Company such as B737 Classic, Next Generation aircraft, and ATR 42-300/320

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform maintenance on aircraft instruments, avionics, electrical systems, and components
  • The candidates should be able to carry out systems testing in accordance with appropriate documentation such as Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Service Bulletins, and Engineering Orders
  • The candidates should be able to calibrate or adjust electronic equipment or instruments to specification
  • The candidates should be able to carry out troubleshooting procedures to isolate faults, coordinate work with engineers, technicians, and other aircraft maintenance personnel
  • The candidates should be able to conduct maintenance, repairs, and modifications to aircraft using approved tools, materials, and manuals
  • The candidates should be able to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, troubleshoot and rectify aircraft system defects
