Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience in hog production
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously
- The candidates should have the ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with safety requirements
- The candidates should be capable of lifting 25kg and be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day activities in the barn, which involve many physical demands including pushing, pulling, bending, lifting, and continuous walking
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be part of a team working towards specific production goals while adhering to health and safety policies and procedures, and following MLAF SOPs regarding the humane treatment of animals under our care
- The candidates should possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and should have strong communication skills (oral and written)
- The candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to get to and from work located in a rural area
- The candidates should be able to live and teach our Maple Leaf Leadership Values
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assist with all areas of production, including the feeding and general care of pigs, maintaining herd health and environment for pigs, pressure washing and preparing rooms
- The candidates should be able to perform general maintenance, cleaning, and clerical duties, including but not limited to maintaining door charts, inventory trackers, and ordering feed and medication
