Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 1–2 years of education or hands-on experience in the agricultural or food industry, auditing, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a Food Science program
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to analyze results and create recommendations and opportunities for continuous improvement
- The candidates should have a background in continuous improvement and performance enhancement
- The candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills work independently as well as in a team environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge of National Farm Animal Care Council Codes of Practice and poultry welfare standards
- The candidates should be skilled users of Microsoft Office applications and Excel graphing tools, strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to provide field technical services to producers aimed at improving bird health and overall results
- The candidate should be able to perform routine audits during bird placement, grow-out, catching, and loading phases
- The candidate should be able to routinely coach and train producers, catchers, and live transport crews on best practices, including during overnight hours
- The candidate should be able to coach growers and catchers to enhance animal welfare and handling practices through performance analysis and data interpretation
- The candidate should be able to execute quality assurance programs and ensure strict adherence to biosecurity protocols
- The candidate should be able to compile and analyze data, including but not limited to performance metrics from on-farm trials
- The candidate should be able to conduct training and on-site verification of Maple Leaf Foods employees
- The candidate should be able to present collected data to Maple Leaf Foods and growers to support ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement efforts, create and revise Standard Operating Procedures
