Education: Candidates should have completion of 3 year diploma in Museum Studies
Experience: Candidates should have 2 years of experience in the museum, heritage and cultural sectors
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently to complete tasks
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of museum operations
- The candidates should be familiar with current computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Cloud
- The candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, able to adapt to change, and an excellent team player
- The candidates should have excellent communication skills and experience teaching or training in an educational environment
- The candidates should show commitment to the success of post-secondary learners
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide theoretical and practical instruction to students in the Applied Museum Studies program at Algonquin College
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills relevant to operational activities within the museum, heritage, and cultural sectors
- The candidates should be able to prepare courses, deliver lectures, and assess student work in alignment with College policies
- The candidates should be able to negotiate the number of hours per week for teaching, based on their availability and the needs of the program
