Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have University degree in STEM or a related discipline as well as training in the administrative/secretarial field
Experience: Candidates should have Four years of experience in an office administrative capacity, preferably in a post-secondary educational setting

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to set work priorities effectively, given the number of competing demands for time and effort
  • The candidates should be resilient, flexible, and able to work under pressure
  • The candidates should work independently, plan, initiate, coordinate, and make decisions relating to the many different tasks required
  • The candidates should be capable of compiling reports, preparing statistics, composing correspondence, and advising with minimum supervision and accuracy

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a thorough knowledge of database software and word-processing skills
  • The candidates should have knowledge of the University structure and regulations, particularly pertaining to the Faculty of Engineering and Design, and the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs
  • The candidates should have good judgment, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills because the incumbent must interact effectively with a large spectrum of people
  • The candidates should have sound judgment to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external contacts and to enforce academic regulations and policies
  • The candidates should have provision of accurate and relevant information to students, faculty members, and supervisors outside the EP Program, as is personal initiative, reliability, and accuracy with details
  • The candidates should have organizational skills that are important for meeting deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to take responsibility for the administrative and day-to-day activities of the MEng – Engineering Practice Program
  • The candidates should be able to assist with admissions, applicant questions, marketing, and advancement
  • The candidates should be able to perform other duties required for the success of the program
  • The candidates should be able to report to the Manager, MEng – Engineering Practice Program
  • The candidates should regularly work on campus in person or work temporarily remotely due to public health orders, directives and/or health and safety requirements
