Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Ph.D. degree in Economics or in a related area with a focus in Economics, with a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching in Economics
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Other Requirements:
- The candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching through teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application, and strong letters of reference
- The candidates should demonstrate an ability to foster diversity on campus and within the curriculum or discipline, and show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial environment
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths with their research and teaching interests
- The candidates should be able to sustain and lead innovative and independent research at the highest international level
- The candidates should be able to maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program
- The candidates should be able to teach undergraduate courses in the Department of Economics at the University of Toronto Mississauga
- The candidates should be able to become a full member of the Graduate Department of Economics of the University of Toronto and undertake graduate teaching and supervision of doctoral students at the St. George campus
- The candidates must provide evidence of research excellence, which can be demonstrated by a record of sustained high-impact contributions and publications in top-ranked Economics and field-relevant journals
- The candidates should be able to present a submitted research statement, evidence of an externally funded program of research, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and other noteworthy activities contributing to the visibility and prominence of the discipline
