Salary: $30.00 to $43.00 hourly (To be negotiated) 32 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Thunder Bay, ON
Shifts: Day, Flexible Hours
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Willing to relocate, Relocation costs not covered by employer, In shop

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Own tools/equipment: Tools
Credentials: Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate, Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be willing to work in dirty environments
  • The candidates should possess attention to detail, even in dirty conditions

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should exhibit dependability and reliability in their work and tasks while also being team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions, diagnose faults and malfunctions, and repair or replace mechanical units or components
  • The candidates should be able to inspect motors in operation, road test motor vehicles, and test automotive systems and components, adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, and test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications
  • The candidates should be able to estimate parts and labor costs to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, perform scheduled maintenance services, and test and adjust units to specifications
  • The candidates should be able to advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements, complete reports to record problems and work performed, and review work orders and discuss work with supervisors
