Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have automotive Service Technician Trade Certification (Certificate of Qualification/Inter-provincial Red-Seal)
Experience: Candidates should have experience in Diesel Engines, Vehicle Electrical and Electronic Systems, Steering, Brakes and Suspensions

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to follow set and standard procedures
  • The candidates must possess a valid Driver’s License (BC Class 5 is mandatory) and have a clean Driver’s Abstract
  • The candidates should be able to operate a Standard Transmission/Manual Transmission Vehicle and must be bondable
  • The candidates should be a candidate with a validated experienced apprenticeship to be considered
  • The candidates should own essential trade tools, safety shoes and equipment
  • The candidates should have reliable transportation (facility is not transit accessible)
  • The candidates should have experience in the maintenance of both Standard and Automatic Transmissions
  • The candidates should have experience in Propane-Fueled Engines and in Fleet Maintenance, which is an asset but not mandatory

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform maintenance and repair tasks on UPS package delivery vehicles and tractor-trailers
  • The candidates should be able to adhere to UPS’s preventive and planned maintenance schedule for servicing vehicles regularly
  • The candidates should be able to address DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) concerns promptly for each vehicle
  • The candidates should be able to generate and submit maintenance reports for all serviced vehicles
