Supervision: 1 to 2 people and 3-4 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Blow drying, Hair braiding, Iron waving/curling, Permanents, Extensions, Twisting, Locking, Relaxing, Spiking, Bleach and Roller setting
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be prepared for repetitive tasks
- The candidates should have manual dexterity, attention to detail, and possess hand-eye coordination
- The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to stand for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be client-focused and demonstrate dependability
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and have excellent oral communication
- The candidates should demonstrate flexibility, exercise good judgment, and exhibit reliability
- The candidates should be team players
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to book appointments, cut and trim hair according to the client’s instructions or preferences, and shampoo customers’ hair
- The candidates should be able to shave and trim beards and mustaches, provide other hair treatments such as waving, straightening, tinting, and provide scalp conditioning massages
- The candidates should be able to supervise other hair stylists and staff, supervise apprentices/students in training, and analyze hair and scalp condition to provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments
- The candidates should be able to apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to color, frost, or streak hair, apply hair extensions, and clean and style wigs and hairpieces
- The candidates should be able to cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair, judge in competitions, and suggest hairstyles compatible with clients’ physical features or determined from clients’ instructions and preferences
- The candidates should be able to perform receptionist duties and maintain and order supplies
