Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Computer and technology knowledge: Point of sale system
Equipment and machinery experience: Electronic cash register
Own tools/equipment: Uniform
Credentials: Safe Food Handling certificate, Smart Serve, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
  • The candidates should be able to work in noisy area

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be client focus, organized, initiative, flexible, and reliable
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player


  • The candidates should be able to clear and clean tables, trays and chairs, advise on menu selections, address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • The candidates should be able to train staff, serve food and beverages, present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travelers cheques or room billings
  • The candidates should be able to enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations, describe and advise on wine selection, describe menu items including daily specials for customers, balance cash and record sales
  • The candidates should be able to provide customer service, assist clients/guests with special needs
  • The candidates should be able to take orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff, greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages
