Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a minimum of Grade twelve (12)
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be available to be called in for work with minimum notice, be available to work shifts including weekends, early mornings, late nights, split shifts, and statutory holidays

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should possess a valid “G” Ontario Driver’s License in good standing (without demerits)
  • The candidate should be enthusiastic with a positive attitude and enjoy working with the public, a strong customer service focus

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate specialized vans safely in all weather conditions and under minimal supervision
  • The candidates should be able to pick up and drop off passengers while maintaining a pre-assigned schedule
  • The candidates should be able to respond to questions from passengers in a courteous and helpful manner
  • The candidates should be able to assist passengers from accessible door to accessible door safely and respectfully
  • The candidates should be able to secure mobility aids as required to ensure passenger safety, collect bus fares accurately and efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to handle the physical demands of the position, including sitting for long periods and assisting passengers to and from the vehicle
