Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a degree in Business, Management, Public Administration, or a related field
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of related experience in operational and strategic planning and/or program development and/or policy

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have previous experience in developing proposals, strategies, plans, briefings, reports, and presentations
  • The candidates should possess advanced technical knowledge of statistical software programs, Power Bi, business intelligence tools, and data analytics
  • The candidates should demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a working knowledge of data management and reporting systems, which will be considered assets
  • The candidates should have a solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, project management, and report writing, which would also be considered assets
  • The candidates should have prior experience working in Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software
  • The candidates should demonstrate professionalism, interpersonal skills, political acumen, the ability to influence and build consensus, and a commitment to fostering relationships across lines of service
  • The candidates should have the ability to work independently while remaining an engaged and effective team member

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to analyze and interpret strategic data to provide advice and recommendations related to business modeling and service improvements for the Community Strategies division
  • The candidates should be able to work closely with operational, geodemographic, and financial data to aid in decision-making for daily business and overall key strategic initiatives for business partners across The City, including Recreation and Social Programs, Community Strategies, and the Calgary Fire Department
  • The candidates should be able to lead initiatives related to advanced analytics, visualization, data correlation, and predictive modeling to inform the Community Strategies business unit and support strategic planning
  • The candidates should be able to provide subject matter expertise in geodemographic, financial, operational, business modeling, and service improvement recommendations
  • The candidates should be able to transform business requirements from internal clients into value-generating solutions by applying the most suitable business analysis tools and techniques
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with inter-departmental and external analytics communities on the exchange of benchmarks, guidelines, and best practices in analysis and analytics
  • The candidates should be able to produce quantitative analysis to enable evidence-based decision-making in-service improvement and capital planning projects
