Position: Butcher – retail or wholesale
No of Vacancies: 1
Salary: $18.00 to $20.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 25 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Markham, ON
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, 09:00 to 19:00
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Equipment and machinery experience:Â Band saw, Manual cutting utensil, Power grinder, and Slicing machine
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure, stand for extended periods, and pay attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks and manage heavy loads
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be accurate, focus on clients, and be dependable
- The candidate should demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills, communicate excellently orally, and be flexible
- The candidate should take initiative, be organized, and be reliable
- The candidate should be a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to clean meats for processing or cutting, cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts, and remove bones from meat
- The candidates should be able to wrap and package prepared meats, weigh meats for sale, and cut poultry into parts
- The candidates should be able to price meat products, sell meats to customers, and grind and slice cooked meats
- The candidates should be able to prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products, prepare special orders, and conduct online marketing, e-commerce, and website promotions
