Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and capable of working in or on water environments
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should exhibit dependability and demonstrate organizational skills
- The candidates should be reliable and capable team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to command and operate ships or vessels to transport passengers and cargo, control, steer, and navigate a vessel in various waterways, and enforce regulations in Canadian waters
- The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of deck crews, ensure the safety and comfort of passengers, and maintain the vessel’s navigational instruments and equipment
- The candidates should be able to determine geographical position using navigational instruments, maps, and charts
