Salary: $16.00 to $19.00 hourly (to be negotiated) 20 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Kelowna, BC
Shifts: Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift
Work setting: Restaurant, Gas bar
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic cash register, Interac machine, Price scanner, Computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering system
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and be physically demanding
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be accurate and flexible
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication and be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizen and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate cash register, process money, cheques and credit/debit card payments, scan items and tabulate total payment for goods or services required
- The candidates should be able to receive payment for goods or services, calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales, suggestive selling, greet customers, stock shelves and clean counter area
- The candidates should be able to wrap or place merchandise in bags, provide customer service, calculate foreign currency exchange and participate in promotional activities
- The candidates should be able to monitor all entrances and exits, request proof of payment when necessary
- The candidates should be able to verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products
