Salary: $46.45 to $48.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 to 44 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Milton, ON
Work setting: Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Prefab/shop fabrication, Residential, Roads and bridges, Sewers and water mains, and Sidewalks and curbs
Type of materials: Colours and sealers, Hardeners and epoxies, Lightweight concrete, Mastic flooring, Reinforcing membrane and protective covering
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need any degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Own tools/equipment: Tools, Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles, Ear plugs, and Gloves
Security and safety: Bondable
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the physical endurance for physically demanding tasks and be capable of efficiently handling heavy loads
- The candidates should be comfortable with activities such as bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods as part of their duties
- The candidates should have attention to detail in their work and be able to work in dusty, cold, hot, or potentially dangerous conditions
- The candidates should be comfortable working at heights, in refrigerated environments, and in noisy conditions
- The candidates should be able to work outdoors and in wet or damp conditions
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be accurate, client focus, and flexibility
- The candidates should be a team player, fostering collaboration within the team
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials, direct concrete placement according to grade, and level the top surface to specifications
- The candidates should be able to fill hollows, remove spots on freshly poured cement, and operate power vibrators to compact concrete
- The candidates should be able to work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages, and impart desired finishes to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
- The candidates should be able to instruct apprentices, install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures, and apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
- The candidates should be able to waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces, repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures, and estimate costs and materials
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
