Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years’
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be physically demanding
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads and do sound discrimination
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be accurate, client focus, and flexible
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication and be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizen and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
- The candidates should be able to fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
- The candidates should be able to prepare tenders and quotations
- The candidates should be able to operate power vibrators to compact concrete
- The candidates should be able to level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
- The candidates should be able to work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
- The candidates should be able to impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
- The candidates should be able to instruct apprentices, install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures
- The candidates should be able to apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
- The candidates should be able to waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
- The candidates should be able to repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
- The candidates should be able to estimate costs and materials, and operate CADD and other computer software systems
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
