Salary: $28.00 to $30.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Langley, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime, On Call, Morning
Transportation information: Willing to travel, Willing to travel regularly, and Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Work in employer’s/client’s home
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Autistic children, Children with an intellectual disability, Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD), and Children with learning disabilities
Security and safety: Child Abuse Registry check, Child welfare check, Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check, Drug test, Medical exam, and Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smoking and scent-free
- The candidates should be willing to work overtime when required and be physically capable of meeting the demands of the job
- The candidates should be comfortable performing repetitive tasks and able to work effectively under pressure
- The candidates should be experienced in handling weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate a strong focus on client satisfaction and possess efficient interpersonal skills, exhibiting excellent oral and written communication skills
- The candidates should be flexible in adapting to different situations and tasks, demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and task completion, and exercise good judgment in decision-making
- The candidates should be organized in their approach to work, reliable in fulfilling their duties, and effective team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and travel with the family on trips, assisting with child supervision and housekeeping duties
- The candidates should be able to instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, and organize activities such as games and outings for children
- The candidates should be able to supervise and care for children, take children to and from school and appointments, and tend to the emotional well-being of children
- The candidates should be able to help children with homework, provide assistance to students with special needs, and assist clients/guests with special needs
