Work setting: Employer’s home, optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment. Work in employer’s/client’s home
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: School age (6 – 12 years), kindergarten age (4 – 5 years)
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smoking, adhering to a smoke-free policy in the workplace, and be scent-free, refraining from the use of perfumes, colognes, or scented products to accommodate individuals with sensitivities or allergies
- The candidates should be able to handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, effectively communicating and collaborating with colleagues and clients, and demonstrate flexibility, adapting to changing circumstances and tasks as required
- The candidates should show initiative, taking proactive steps to address challenges and improve processes, and exercise sound judgment, making informed decisions in various situations
- The candidates should be organized, maintaining order and structure in their work activities, and exhibit reliability, consistently delivering high-quality work and meeting deadlines
- The candidates should function well as team players, contributing positively to group dynamics and achieving collective goals
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, ensuring the well-being and safety of all family members, and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a clean and organized home environment
- The candidates should be able to shop for food and household supplies, ensuring that the family’s needs are met, and travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties as required
- The candidates should be able to bathe, dress, and feed infants and children according to their needs and preferences, and discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, promoting positive behavior and development
- The candidates should be able to instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, fostering independence and social skills, and maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, identifying and addressing any potential hazards or risks
- The candidates should be able to organize activities such as games and outings for children, providing opportunities for recreation and learning, and prepare and serve nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of the family
- The candidates should be able to prepare infants and children for rest periods, ensuring they have a comfortable and conducive environment for sleep, and supervise and care for children, ensuring their well-being and attending to their needs
- The candidates should be able to take children to and from school and other activities, ensuring they arrive safely and on time
