Salary: $18.00 to $22.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract Full time
Location: Vancouver, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, On Call, To be determined, Morning, 08:00 to 15:30
Work setting: Employer’s home, Work in employer’s/client’s home, Room and board provided, Relocation costs covered by employer, and Willing to relocate
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Experience with special needs children: Children with a genetic disorder
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, and CPR Certificate
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be organized and reliable in managing tasks and responsibilities, ensuring consistent fulfillment of their duties
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and shop for food and household supplies
- The candidates should be able to travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens, and bathe, dress, and feed infants and children
- The candidates should be able to discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, and keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
- The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, organize activities such as games and outings for children, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
- The candidates should be able to supervise and care for children, take children to and from school and to appointments, and tend to the emotional well-being of children
- The candidates should be able to help children with homework and cook
