Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktut, English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Experience: Candidates should have three years of experience in the role of nurse practitioner, community health nurse, nurse in charge and emergency room nurse

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completed training as a critical care nurse, with a minimum of one year of experience in a training capacity within an adult learning setting, new nurse orientation program, internship, or mentoring programs
  • The candidates should be eligible to register with the Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses (CANCCN)
  • The candidates should undergo a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check, due to the highly sensitive nature of the position
  • The candidates should possess proficiency in multiple official languages of Nunavut
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, as well as experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment, which will be favored
  • The candidates should be able to promote quality, culturally safe nursing practice, continuous quality improvement initiatives, optimal health outcomes, and positive patient healthcare experiences

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report to the Territorial Health Education Manager
  • The candidates should be able to assist nurses in acquiring the professional competencies necessary for success in their nursing roles
  • The candidates should be able to assess competencies and design learning plans to support professional development activities
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate and deliver orientation, education, and training sessions for nurses in various roles throughout Nunavut
  • The candidates should be able to ensure high clinical standards are met by nurses delivering healthcare services
  • The candidates should be able to contribute, along with the nursing education team, to increasing patient satisfaction, public confidence in the healthcare system, and impacting the health and well-being of Nunavummiut through the development and maintenance of a competent nursing workforce

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get an annual Northern Allowance $24054.00 and For Full time permanent nurses contain Additional premiums include a $9000.00 Annual Frontline Allowance and a $375.00 Monthly Retention Bonus of $4500.00
