Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made; seeking any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations is the sole responsibility of the candidates
  • The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a valid DVS (Diploma of Vocational Studies) or CCQ card, excellent written and oral communication skills and be detail-oriented
  • The candidates should have basic computer knowledge, including proficiency in Word, Excel, email, and internet usage

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to prepare, clean, and sand surfaces in preparation for painting, repair cracks, holes, and joints using caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, with appropriate tools such as caulking guns or putty knives
  • The candidate should be able to erect scaffolding and swing stages, attach rigging, and apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to both interior and exterior surfaces
  • The candidate should be able to apply primers or sealers to new surfaces such as bare wood, metal, or drywall to prepare for finish coats, remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electrical covers prior to painting
  • The candidate should be able to measure and install drywall panels, accommodating for electrical outlets, air-conditioning units, door frames, and plumbing, complete assignments on time and in accordance with established schedules
  • The candidate should be able to use both power and non-power tools to saw, drill, or cut holes in panels for required installations
  • The candidate should be able to produce results that meet client expectations and adhere to the quality standards of Air Canada, accept direction from the Manager or Lead Hand and work effectively within a team
