Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience working with the public

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working on a tablet and sending emails
  • The candidates should have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • The candidates should navigate around communities using provided maps to identify and visit selected households on foot or in vehicles, this includes walking in the dark during the winter season and/or repeatedly entering and exiting vehicles

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have good communication skills, a valid driver’s license and should be reliable and able to follow instructions
  • The candidates should maintain accurate records of survey operations
  • The candidates should have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should understand confidentiality and be able to keep information collected private and confidential at all times

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to visit selected households and conduct the survey with residents on the tablets provided
  • The candidates should be able to use the training materials provided to become knowledgeable about the importance of responding to the survey and the benefits to communities
  • The candidates should be able to advocates for the survey and professionally represent the NWT Bureau of Statistics at all times
  • The candidates should be able to maintain the safety and security of the assigned tablet and any other equipment from the NWT Bureau of Statistics
  • The candidates should be able to follow remote directions from the NWT Bureau of Statistics and work independently to complete the assigned survey load
  • The candidates should be able to communicate with other interviewers and staff at the NWT Bureau of Statistics to ensure the successful collection of surveys within a community
  • The candidates should be able to accurately record responses to the survey questionnaire and maintain excellent administrative notes and records
  • The candidates should be able to conduct the 2024 NWT Price Survey while in communities and any other data collection activities that may arise
