Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a diploma in Computer Studies or Information Technology
Experience: Candidates should have experience in a complex multiplatform technical environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work independently and the ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment
  • The candidates should have the ability to manage time and tasks efficiently, the ability to think critically, problem-solving skills and a client-service orientation
  • The candidates should have a recent and satisfactory Screening Certificate from the local police and be willing to accept after-hours support coverage occasionally

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and IBM AIX Unix and knowledge of installation, configuration, and management of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and IBM AIX Unix operating systems
  • The candidates should have knowledge of IBM HMC/LPAR and VMware vSphere virtualization technologies and operation
  • The candidates should have knowledge of installation and configuration of core server services Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, Oracle MySQL database, Oracle Database, IBM Spectrum Protect backup client

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to manage and support critical IT infrastructure, primarily Linux and AIX server operating systems and IBM Power Systems virtualization technology
  • The candidates should be able to advise, implement, monitor, and maintain critical IT infrastructure that supports government applications and databases, including PeopleSoft (HRMS) and the Financial Management System (FMS)
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the full life cycle of Linux and AIX operating systems, ensuring servers are designed, provisioned, upgraded, patched, and maintained to optimal levels
  • The candidates should be able to function as subject matter experts for Linux and AIX authentication solutions
  • The candidates should be able to ensure daily oversight and support of IT infrastructure, maintaining system stability and performance
