Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Construction specialization: Industrial, commercial, and institutional; Sidewalks and curbs
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles, Gloves, Uniform, Ear plugs, and Safety vest
Credentials: Personal protective equipment (PPE) training

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work outdoors as required, be capable of working at heights if necessary, and be aware of and able to handle potentially dangerous situations
  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle physically demanding tasks efficiently
  • The candidates should be capable of performing repetitive tasks efficiently and handling weights exceeding 45 kg (100 lbs) when required

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transport construction materials safely and efficiently, following established procedures and safety protocols, and operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position, or place equipment and materials accurately and securely
  • The candidates should be able to clean and lubricate cranes regularly, ensuring optimal performance and longevity, and erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades according to project specifications and safety standards
  • The candidates should be able to operate pile driving cranes to drive pilings into the earth, providing support for buildings and other structures, and mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete, asphalt, and aggregates as required for construction projects
  • The candidates should be able to assemble tower cranes on-site safely and efficiently, ensuring stability and structural integrity, and assist heavy equipment operators as needed, supporting construction activities and ensuring smooth workflow
  • The candidates should be able to operate gantry cranes to load and unload ship cargo at portside, facilitating efficient maritime logistics, and assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction, ensuring accuracy and proper installation
  • The candidates should be able to operate locomotive cranes to move objects and materials at railway yards, supporting rail operations, and assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, following safety procedures and protocols
  • The candidates should be able to operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move, and place plant machinery and materials safely and accurately, and assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs, contributing to the construction process
  • The candidates should be able to operate offshore oil rig cranes to unload and reload supply vessels, supporting offshore operations, and level earth to fine grade specifications, ensuring a stable and even surface for construction
  • The candidates should be able to operate cranes mounted on boats or barges to lift, move, and place equipment and materials on water bodies, and pave and rake asphalt, contributing to road construction and maintenance projects
  • The candidates should be able to assist in demolishing buildings, ensuring safe and efficient removal of structures, and clean and pile salvaged materials, organizing them for reuse or disposal
  • The candidates should be able to operate dragline cranes to expose coal seams and ore deposits at open pit mines, supporting mining operations, and perform pre-operational inspection and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting tasks accurately
  • The candidates should be able to perform routine maintenance work on cranes and construction equipment, ensuring reliability and safety, and clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, mitigating environmental hazards on construction sites
  • The candidates should be able to remove rubble and other debris at construction sites promptly and efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and safety, and tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction, ensuring continuous operation and efficiency
  • The candidates should be able to direct traffic at or near construction sites safely and effectively, ensuring the safety of workers and the public, and read and interpret blueprints accurately, understanding project requirements and specifications
