The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), Department of Construction – Construction Site Services oversees construction projects vital to TTC infrastructure. The department ensures efficient and safe operations at construction sites. TTC’s Construction Site Services plays a critical role in enhancing transit infrastructure and service reliability for Toronto residents. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a university degree in a related discipline (civil/mechanical/electrical engineering/architecture)
Experience: Candidates should have several years of experience in the inspection and administration of medium to heavy construction projects in an urban environment or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a sound knowledge of construction management practices and principles, construction techniques and practices, including familiarity with construction laws, contract administration, contract inspection, and claims management as well as knowledge of TTC operating environment
  • The candidates must have some knowledge of and become proficient in the Construction Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations for Construction Projects
  • The candidates must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
  • The candidates should be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario or Licensed Architect in good standing with the Ontario Association of Architects (with eligibility for a professional seal)
  • The candidates should have strong knowledge of, and experience in specialized construction scheduling methods and analysis

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide various technical, analytical, administrative, financial, and field functions to ensure the effective administration of construction contracts and projects within the Engineering, Construction and Expansion group (ECE)
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment
  • The candidates should be able to help remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies
  • The candidates should be able to participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program
