Salary: $48.00 hourly for 30 to 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Calgary, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Urban area, Various locations, Commercial and/or industrial construction, and Relocation costs not covered by employer
Budgetary responsibility: $100,001 – $500,000 and $500,001 – $1,500,000
Supervision: 11-15 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Project management
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be capable of working under pressure
  • The candidates should be adept at meeting tight deadlines
  • The candidates should have a strong attention to detail
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be open to overtime when required
  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare and submit construction project budget estimates, recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers, and hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors
  • The candidates should be able to plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress, prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements
  • The candidates should be able to establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control,  read blueprints, schemas, and drawings, and select trade subcontractors and coordinate their activities
  • The candidates should be able to plan and manage budgets, direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions, and develop and implement quality control programs
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the analysis of data and information, plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations, prepare reports, and develop risk management plans
