Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a Journeyman Plumber certification
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of experience in a similar role

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should note that the compensation package includes a vacation entitlement of 15 business days per year, which must be accumulated prior to taking them
  • The candidates should demonstrate their suitability for the role, during the probation period, which is 90 days from the start date

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have HVAC or R and Sheetmetal experience
  • The candidates should have possession of a Gas A Ticket
  • The candidates should have gas and boiler experience
  • The candidates should possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract
  • The candidates should have valid safety certifications such as First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, CSTS, PSTS, Fall Protection, AWP, H2S Alive
  • The candidates should be aware that Criminal Record Checks are required for all Prairie employees prior to being hired. This will be obtained at the candidate’s expense and will not be reimbursed by the Employer

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to work within commercial and industrial environments
  • The candidates should be able to complete the required daily equipment inspections, safety reports, and Field Level Hazard Assessments
  • The candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • The candidates should be able to perform work using hand and power tools in a safe manner
  • The candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints, with basic spec and shop drawing interpretation
  • The candidates should be able to maintain clean and operable equipment and work areas at all times
  • The candidates should be able to perform maintenance and service of plumbing equipment such as pumps, boilers, HVAC systems, and backflows
