Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Construction specialization: Driveways, Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional, Residential, Sidewalks and Curbs, and Water mains
Own tools/equipment: Tools, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, uniform, ear plugs, and safety vest
Credentials: Personal protective equipment (PPE) training and Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, drug test
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces, as well as in noisy and dusty environments
- The candidates should be able to work effectively under pressure, prepared for physically demanding work, and adept at meeting tight deadlines
- The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and be able to handle weights up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position, or place equipment and materials, as well as erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
- The candidates should be able to mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt, assist in framing houses, erecting walls, building roofs, and demolishing buildings
- The candidates should also be able to clean and pile salvaged materials, perform routine maintenance work, and remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
