Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have previous working experience with the elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment as an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should have the ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have a valid Continuing Care Certification or Provincial Personal Care Worker course or equivalent
- The candidate should have the capacity to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening
- The candidate should have consideration for an Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care course as an asset
- The candidate should have a valid CPR & First Aid Certification
- The candidate should have a passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assist residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment
- The candidates should collaborate with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan
- The candidates should assist in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis
- The candidates should assist with light housekeeping duties
- The candidates should perform delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice
- The candidates should communicate and report relevant information regarding resident care or safety to the Supervisor
