  • The candidate should have a valid Food Handler’s certificate
  • The candidate should have the ability to read and follow detailed recipes/instructions as required and communicate efficiently in a team-oriented setting
  • The candidate should have passion for the healthcare sector and a commitment to ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care


  • The candidate should be able to plan and prepare meals according to established standards, procedures, recipes, and menus, including preparing special meals to meet appropriate therapeutic menu modifications according to established guidelines
  • The candidate should assist with the preparation of food for special functions (e.g., catering, theme dinners) to ensure service meets established standards
  • The candidate should be able to report any recipe shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues to the Executive Chef or supervisor in a timely manner
  • The candidate should be able to clean and sanitize the cooking station daily and maintain the cleanliness of kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers, and others to maintain safety and sanitation in the kitchen, meeting legislative and organizational standards
  • The candidate should be responsible for the clear and correct labeling of excess food
  • The candidate should follow disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines for organics, paper, plastics, cans/bottles, non-recyclable material, etc.
