Willowtree Farm Inc. based in Port Perry, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Crop farm labourer – harvesting. Willowtree Farm Inc. provides a welcoming space where customers can browse a wide selection of fresh produce, baked goods, dairy products, and locally sourced goods. We also hosts educational events and workshops, allowing visitors to gain insight into sustainable farming practices and connect with the origins of our food. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Type of crops: Artisanal crops, Asparagus, Bell peppers, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflowers, Cucumbers, Field berries, Garlic, Melons, Onions, Raspberries, Soybeans, Strawberries, Sweet corn, Zucchinis, Tomatoes, Potatoes, Berries, Vegatable
Equipment and machinery experience: Onion transplanter, Vegetable harvester, Fruit harvester
Own tools/equipment: Gloves
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
- The candidates should be able to distinguish between colours
- The candidates should be able to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye co-ordination
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, large workload
- The candidates should be able to do manual dexterity
- The candidates should be able to farm fruit and vegetable combination, and other miscellaneous crop farming
- The candidates should be able to work in wet/damp area, noisy area, odours, outdoors, hot area, and dusty area
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be flexible, and reliable
- The candidates should be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to clean crop, grading
- The candidates should be able to do hand harvesting vegetables
- The candidates should be able to sort and pack fruits and vegetables, hoeing crops
- The candidates should be able to pick row and orchard crops
- The candidates should be able to stone and/or wood picking
- The candidates should be able to clean work area
- The candidates should be able to load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce, livestock and poultry
