Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Cleaning
Equipment and machinery experience: Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers, carpet cleaning machine, polishing machines, waxing machine, steam cleaners, and power tools
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads and proficient in bending, crouching, and kneeling
- The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate dependability in their performance and display flexibility in their approach to tasks and schedules
- The candidates should show initiative in taking proactive steps to achieve goals and exercise good judgment in decision-making
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs, operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse, and empty trash cans and other waste containers
- The candidates should be able to wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings, contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, and perform minor repairs on appliances
- The candidates should be able to perform safety and security checks, perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair, and clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
- The candidates should be able to work with minimal supervision
