Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 10 to 30 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: 25 Whiteway Drive Wabush, NL A0R 1B0
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Flexible Hours
Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer, confectionery/corner store, retail business
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic cash register, Interact machine, price scanner, computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering system
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment and handling work tasks under pressure while maintaining composure and efficiency
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to handle heavy loads as required by the job and exhibit a meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of their work
- The candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods during their duties
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate accuracy and precision in their work and possess excellent oral communication skills to convey information effectively
- The candidates should be able to collaborate as effective team players, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate a cash register, process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments, and calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile them with total sales
- The candidates should be able to scan items, receive payment for goods or services, and engage in suggestive selling
- The candidates should be able to stock shelves and clean the counter area, greet customers, provide customer service, and verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products
