Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Student status: Full-time enrollment, Part-time enrollment
Area of specialization: Dairy cattle
Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system, Milking system (automated), Storage and silage system, Tractor, Farm truck, Forage equipment, Haying equipment, Loader, Planting equipment, Tillage equipment, and Skidsteer
Automated systems experience: Bulk grain or feed handling (automated), Automated environmental control equipment, and Manure handling and storage
Credentials: First Aid Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be willing to work outdoors and be comfortable working in dusty, noisy conditions, and be tolerant of various odors
  • The candidates should have experience in dairy farming and potato and vegetable farming, and be able to work in all weather conditions
  • The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks and heavy loads as necessary, demonstrating attention to detail in their work
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking during work, and willing to work overtime when required

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should maintain an organized approach to their work tasks and schedules, demonstrating flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances and requirements
  • The candidates should be team players, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues, and possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication
  • The candidates should exercise good judgment in decision-making situations and be reliable in fulfilling their responsibilities and meeting commitments

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide effective cattle training and handle animals with care and expertise, monitoring their health and recognizing signs of illness or distress
  • The candidates should be able to plant, cultivate, irrigate crops, and perform stone and/or wood picking tasks as required, maintaining crop health and productivity
  • The candidates should be able to weed fields and gardens, harvest crops efficiently and safely, and feed and tend to animals while ensuring their well-being and nutrition
  • The candidates should assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures, maintaining financial and production records accurately
  • The candidates should operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment properly, ensuring farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • The candidates should maintain livestock performance records, track animal productivity, and recognize and treat certain livestock health problems promptly
  • The candidates should clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens to maintain a sanitary environment, detect diseases and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry, and perform general farm duties as required
