Little Wonders Day Care based in Edmonton, AB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Daycare worker. Little Wonders Day Care provides a childcare service, between 3 months to 12 years. Our mission is to be a child-centered early learning centre that helps children to develop socially, emotionally, physically, creatively and cognitively under the positive guidance and care of highly trained early childhood educators and within a well-designed environment. Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be physically demanding
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to do manual dexterity
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be punctual, dependable, flexible, reliable, and judgmental
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication, interpersonal awareness efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
- The candidate should have values and ethics
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits, maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor, submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
