Work setting: Urban area, Relocation costs not covered by employer
Target audience: Infant (3 months – 11 months)
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), Emergency child care first aid and CPR, First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance, Child Abuse Registry check, Child welfare check, Immunization records, Vulnerable sector check, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be punctual, flexible, reliable
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication, interpersonal awareness, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
- The candidate should have values and ethics
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers, develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to to tell stories, support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
- The candidates should be able to provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to knowledge of Day Nurseries Act, plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
