Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working in noisy environments and be non-smokers, while also being able to work in air-conditioned environments
- The candidates should be prepared for repetitive tasks and have a high level of attention to detail
- The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be punctual and demonstrate dependability, as well as possess excellent oral communication skills
- The candidates should exhibit flexibility in their approach, have interpersonal awareness, and demonstrate reliability
- The candidates should be team players and uphold values and ethics
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, engaging in storytelling activities and leading activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, engaging children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
- The candidates should be able to provide opportunities for children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships
