Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Willing to travel regularly
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Commercial Fishing Licence
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in outdoors, in/on water, wet/damp, odours, hot and cold/refrigerated area
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads and large workload
- The candidates should be able to be physically demanding
- The candidates should be able to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to prepare nets, lines, other fishing tackle, operate fishing gear to catch fish and other marine life
- The candidates should be able to write daily basic progress reports
- The candidates should be able to repair nets, splice ropes and maintain fishing gear and other deck equipment
- The candidates should be able to prepare and cook meals for crew members
- The candidates should be able to clean, sort and pack fish in ice and stow catch in hold
- The candidates should be able to clean deck surfaces and fish hold
- The candidates should be able to steer vessels to and from fishing areas
