Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School Diploma
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience in a mine or other heavy industry environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate a good work ethic and a strong attitude towards safety
  • The candidates should be available to work at the Magino Mine, located approximately 88 kilometres northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada
  • The candidates should be able to work a rotation of 7 days on / 7 days off or 14 days on / 14 days off, consisting of 12-hour shifts

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess  or GED equivalent, be familiar with drills and have experience working near earth-moving equipment
  • The candidates should have experience with Sandvik drills, specifically DI650i and DR410i, which is preferred
  • The candidates should be team players with solid communication skills, possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle
  • The candidates should hold first aid and other relevant certifications, support and comply with a drug and alcohol-free workplace, acknowledging the site’s zero-tolerance policy for unauthorized substances

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate a variety of drills and related equipment in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner
  • The candidates should be able to ensure all machinery is safe, and appropriately document and report any faults or potential hazards
  • The candidates should be able to strictly adhere to safety protocols in all tasks and interactions, including pre-start up, start-up, and shut-down checks
  • The candidates should be able to follow standard operating procedures and monitor all equipment and gauges for irregularities
  • The candidates should be able to take appropriate corrective action to prevent any negative impact on the environment or quality and report non-compliance
