Salary: $28.00 hourly for 40 to 50 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel cross-border
Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), and Trip reports

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Equipment and machinery experience: Tractor-trailer
Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment)
Security and safety: Driver’s validity license check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test, and Medical exam

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail in their work and be prepared to handle a large workload
  • The candidates should be willing to work overtime as required and be capable of meeting the physical demands of the job
  • The candidates should be adept at handling repetitive tasks efficiently and be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication and exercise good judgment in decision-making
  • The candidates should be organized in managing their workload and tasks and demonstrate reliability in their work performance
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate effectively as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns and load and unload goods
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, perform brake adjustments, and perform emergency roadside repairs
  • The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle, perform preventive maintenance, and record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption
  • The candidates should be able to perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery and communicate with passengers, dispatchers, or other drivers using two-way radio systems
