Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Own tools/equipment: Hard hat and Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working at heights as part of their responsibilities and be aware that the work environment may be dangerous
- The candidates should be able to work in cold or refrigerated environments and be capable of handling dusty conditions as needed for the job
- The candidates should be able to work in hot environments when necessary and in noisy conditions
- The candidates should be proficient in tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling, and be capable of handling heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as required for the job
- The candidates should be physically fit to meet the demands of a physically demanding role and able to stand for extended periods during their work
- The candidates should be comfortable walking as part of their responsibilities and able to work efficiently under tight deadlines and in a high-pressure environment
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to clean and prepare surfaces, measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, and position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
- The candidates should be able to apply successive coats of compound, sand seams and joints, fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife, and smooth out excess compound, allowing the coat to dry
- The candidates should be able to apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster, finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat if required
- The candidates should be able to cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners, fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids, and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
- The candidates should be able to spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings, trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces, and attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
- The candidates should be able to cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets, install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
- The candidates should be able to install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied, exterior and interior steel studs, and metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
- The candidates should be able to mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency, install vapor barriers, and install thermal and sound insulation
