Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need any degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Own tools/equipment: Hard hat, Mask, Safety glasses/goggles, Steel-toed safety boots
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working at heights and in cold/refrigerated conditions, exercising caution in dangerous environments
- The candidates should be able to work in hot and noisy conditions, willing to work outdoors and comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling
- The candidates should have good hand-eye coordination, be physically fit for demanding tasks, and able to handle heavy loads
- The candidates should be able to discriminate sounds, stand for extended periods, and work under tight deadlines
- The candidates should be comfortable walking for extended periods, able to work under pressure, and capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work effectively as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
- The candidates should be able to fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
- The candidates should be able to finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
- The candidates should be able to measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
- The candidates should be able to position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
- The candidates should be able to tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
- The candidates should be able to attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
- The candidates should be able to cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
- The candidates should be able to install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
- The candidates should be able to install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
- The candidates should be able to install exterior and interior steel studs
- The candidates should be able to install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
- The candidates should be able to install vapor barriers and thermal and sound insulation
- The candidates should be able to erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
