Shifts: Day, Evening, Morning
Transportation information: Public transportation is available
Work setting: Child care centre
Supervision: 5-10 peoples

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working in an air-conditioned environment
  • The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and demonstrate attention to detail while possessing manual dexterity

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be punctual and demonstrate dependability, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The candidates should have interpersonal awareness, demonstrate reliability, be team players, and uphold values and ethics

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and engage them in storytelling
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and encouraging their creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, while guiding and assisting them in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment, assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, have knowledge of licensing regulations, and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, while planning and maintaining an environment that protects their health, security, and well-being
