Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smokers
  • The candidates should be familiar with repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding tasks
  • The candidates should have a strong attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to adapt to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to perform tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • The candidates should possess manual dexterity

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality, exhibit dependability, and possess efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate flexibility in their work approach
  • The candidates should show interpersonal awareness, exercise sound judgment, and showcase reliability in meeting job responsibilities
  • The candidates should be effective team players, adhere to values and ethics, and have the ability to multitask
  • The candidates should demonstrate creativity

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers and develop and implement child-care programs supporting their overall development
  • The candidates should engage in storytelling, supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, and lead activities such as telling stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to order supplies and equipment, support early childhood educators in program implementation, and assist in record-keeping
  • The candidates should provide opportunities for creative expression through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to guide children in developing proper habits, maintain daycare equipment, and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • The candidates should be able to prepare snacks, observe children for signs of potential issues, and submit written observations to educators or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems at staff meetings, have knowledge of licensing regulations, and assess children’s abilities and needs
  • The candidates should be able to establish collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers and plan and maintain a secure environment for children
  • The candidates should be able to organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
