Salary: $22.00 to $23.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 to 44 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: New Maryland, NB
Shifts: Day
Transportation information: Own transportation
Work setting: Child care centre, Before and after school programs  and Day care centre or nursery school
Supervision: 5 to 10 people


Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be proficient in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as part of their responsibilities
  • The candidates should be non-smokers and comfortable working in an air-conditioned environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be punctual and dependable, meeting job responsibilities with reliability
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral communication skills and possess good judgment in decision-making
  • The candidates should be reliable in completing assigned tasks and be team players, fostering a collaborative work environment
  • The candidates should have the ability to multitask efficiently

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position


  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities, such as telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities involving storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • The candidates should be able to provide opportunities for children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should be knowledgeable about licensing regulations and establish guidelines for behavior
  • The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, discussing progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
