Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a master’s degree in Educational Psychology with a focus in Adult Education
Experience: Candidates should have three years of experience working in a university setting, either in a teaching or educational development capacity
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should ensure alignment of resources and programming with strategic priorities
- The candidates should collaborate effectively with the Educational Development team and TE and I staff in all phases of educational resource planning, development, delivery, and evaluation
- The candidates should work independently with minimal supervision to coordinate the development of resources, services, and programs tailored to diverse audiences
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should build and enhance relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty members, contract instructors, graduate students, TAs, and the public
- The candidates should possess strong teaching, research, organizational, and communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, tact, and discretion, especially when handling confidential information
- The candidates should exhibit adaptability and resilience, maintaining composure and focus during high-pressure situations and effectively managing complex requirements and tight deadlines
- The candidates should have experience teaching in higher education or educational development work in an academic setting. Strong skills and experience with technology and tools used in teaching and in the scholarship of teaching and learning
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to report to the Assistant Director, Teaching Excellence and Innovation
- The candidates should be able to support and implement teaching and learning resources and programs aligned with current strategic focus areas
- The candidates should be able to focus on areas such as student engagement, integration of experiential learning and high impact practices, indigenization of curriculum, students-as-partners, research as pedagogy, and the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL)
- The candidates should be able to regularly adapt the subject focus to align with TLS and Carleton strategic priorities in teaching and learning
- The candidates should be able to play an integral role in supporting and implementing the University’s strategic priorities in teaching and learning
