Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Completion of a Diploma in Engineering Technology (Civil or Surveying)
Experience: Candidates should have experience in Civil engineering construction methods, equipment, materials and practices
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be prepared for travel throughout the Region as it may be required
- The candidates should provide a recent and satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in fieldwork (inspection/control of construction projects) and should possess supervisory experience
- The candidates should have experience with design, spreadsheet, and office software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Word, and Excel
- The candidates should demonstrate knowledge of civil engineering construction methods, equipment, materials, and practices
- The candidates should have knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and safe work practices and have knowledge of design, spreadsheet, and office software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Word, and Excel
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage time and tasks effectively and should possess the ability to problem-solve and make independent decisions
- The candidates should exhibit the ability to lead others and Relationship building skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform inspection work on small to moderate construction projects to ensure adherence to prescribed specifications and safety standards
- The candidates should be able to prepare and draft designs, plans, and specifications for highway and bridge construction projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Software
- The candidates should be able to provide contractors with engineering data regarding highway/bridge alignment and grade and able to check construction materials for quality and quantity
- The candidates should be able to assign and supervise the work of survey crews on highway, bridge, and airstrip construction and upgrading/rehabilitation projects
- The candidates should be able to provide technical assistance and review survey data for completeness and accuracy and able to perform other related work as required
- The candidates should be able to work with considerable independence and ensure work conforms to departmental and engineering standards
Benefits:
- The candidates will get Labrador Allowance with dependent $5,958, and without $3,019 and also Travel Allowance of $950 for the employee and $702 per dependent
