Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Flexible Hours, To be determined, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Chronic or long-term care facilities/centres, Occupational health centre, Ambulatory care centre, Rural community health centres, Private industry, Provincial addictions programs, Mental health institution, facility or clinic, Private practice, Public or community health centre, Public health facilities
Supervision: Staff in various areas of responsibility, Working groups, 1 to 2 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II), Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities, College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP)
Specialization in family practice: Alternative/complementary therapies, Anesthesia, Emergency medicine, Family counselling, General surgery, Gynecology, Geriatrics, Hypnotherapy, Internal medicine, Manipulative therapy, Nutritional counselling, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Palliative care, Psychotherapy, Rural medicine, Sexually transmitted diseases, Sports medicine, Occupational hygiene
Security and safety: Confidential security clearance, Enhanced reliability security clearance, Basic security clearance, Tuberculosis test, Immunization records, Eligible for professional liability insurance, Child Abuse Registry check, Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and a repetitive tasker
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to do manual dexterity
  • The candidates should be able to distinguish between colours

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate, client focus, dependable, organized, initiative, flexible, reliable, and judgmental
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication, interpersonal awareness, values and ethics, excellent written communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
  • The candidates should be able to prescribe and administer medications and treatments
  • The candidates should be able to consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health
  • The candidates should be able to inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases
  • The candidates should be able to advise patients on health care, communicate health promotion, disease, illnes and accident prevention to patients, co-ordinate or manage primary patient care
  • The candidates should be able to perform patient advocacy role, provide acute care management, provide emergency care
  • The candidates should be able to provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues, supervise home care services
